We are holding our Basic Phlebotomy Training Course in South West London on the following dates:
- 18th and 19th February 2012
- 3rd and 4th March 2012
- 31st March and 1st April 2012.
Our Level 2 Basic Phlebotomy course is suitable for all students regardless of previous experience and will leave you with all the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career as a phlebotomist.
On completion of the course you will receive an accredited certificate from the Open College Network North East Region which you can use to apply for work in the NHS and the private sector.
The following topics are covered on the course:
Anatomy and Physiology of the Arm
How to find a suitable site of Venepuncture
Correct application of Tourniquet
Health & Safety and Infection Control
Working in a Clinical Environment
Labelling samples, which bottles are required for which test and the order of draw
The importance of correct identification of patients
How to take blood (using an artificial arm)
