Delegates will cover all or some of the following depending on the Training Needs Analysis. Introduction to safe driving, Roadcraft, Highway Code and knowledge check: Fuel Efficient Driving Techniques: Basic vehicle maintenance vehicle safety checks & legal requirements: Hazard perception, anticipation & rules of observation: Overtaking, positioning & cornering: Causes of skidding, driver fatigue: Speed Awareness: Effective Positioning: Appropriate Gear Selection: Smooth Braking: Motorway Driving: Urban Driving: Out of Town Driving: Driver Attitude & Behaviour: Speed Management & Space Management:Observation. The course is for anyone who drives especially for commercial drivers. Our experienced trainer will use the following medias to guide delegates through a sequence of training using: Video footage & discussion, Theory followed by Question & Answer papers, Group Activity & practical application, Pre-reads, Resources i.e. Roadcraft manuals & The Highway Code. All delegates on this course will receive a workbook to accompany the course to take away with them. There will also be signposts for further reading and practical courses on driver safety.
