The Work that Reconnects

The Work That Reconnects workshops are based on the work of Joanna Macy, deep ecologist, Buddhist scholar and eco-philosopher.
The central purpose of The Work That Reconnects is to help us to uncover and experience our innate connections with each other and with the self-healing powers in the web of life. This will enable us to overcome burnout and procrastination and enliven and motivate us to play our part in creating a sustainable civilisation.

This workshop will provide the opportunity to experience and share with others our innermost responses to the present condition of our world, reframe our pain for the world by reconnecting our awareness with the web of life, and thereby realise our power to take part in its healing.
The Great Turning away from unsustainable, disconnected and destructive culture is a challenge that we are fully capable of meeting in a variety of ways. See this time of change as a privilege and a joy. Experience the mutual support of your fellow travellers and collaborate in working for the world.
Beyond facts and figures, creating a life-affirming and sustainable world involves vision and dealing with emotions such as hopelessness, anger, and powerlessness. The Work That Reconnects is an approach to learning that integrates information, vision, and feelings. It helps reveal our intrinsic role in the web of life, and explores how connection and pain can be two sides of the same coin. Through the work, people become enlivened and motivated to help heal themselves, their society, and the Earth.
