This course is designed to contribute to the Appreciation (A) & Knowledge (K) elements of the Institution of Civil Engineers' Development Objective E2 - "Manage and Apply Safe Systems of Work".
A recent glance at H,S&W legislation revealed more than 50 Acts/Regulations with some bearing on construction. Whilst in particular circumstances each of these may be relevant to you this course will concentrate on eight of the fundamental documents - namely:

*NOTE This course will only make passing references to Part 4 of the New Regs (Duties relating to Health & Safety on Construction Site)
Part 4 section is covered in more detail in the third course in the series "Site & General Safety"
This seminar will provide you with the opportunity to examine and appreciate the significance of each of these main regulations in your work activities.
For those who have not attended the first seminar there will be a very short recap on the history and formation of H & S legislation.
Throughout the day self-assessment exercises will be used.
