As more security and cctv systems are integrated with fibre networks. The need to be able to present fibre optic cable in difficult installation situations is going to be essential. Using an air blown fibre solution will be the solution of choise.

OBJECTIVES:- At the end of this programme you will be able to:


  • Identify the different types of tube bundles used to carry the air blown fibre

  • Handle Test and Deploythe tube bundles

  • Complete Fibre Bundle stripping and handling techniques

  • Be able to use Tube Connectors and jointing enclosures

  • Understand Blowing equipment operation

  • Blow fibre optic cables down tube bundles

  • Use different blowing techniques including point to point, centre
    and onward blowing.

  • Complete Maintenance of the blowing equipment and changing
    blowing head to accommodate different fibre sizes.

  • Install and use Fibre enclosures




  • DURATION:
    This Course will be delivered over a FOUR DAY PERIOD.

    DAY 1: Class room instruction learning about the air blown fibre system

    DAY 2: Complete practical tasks such as working with closures, how to join and waterproof tubing etc

    DAY 3&4: Use the blowing equipment to blow fibre and practice the various blowing methods.



    Practical Content:
    The Course has been constructed with all the required tools, material and equipment available, so that you can practice tasks such as the correct jointing of tubing, and the actual blowing of fibre. Gaining real hands on experiance is a massive benefit to you.



    LOCATION: This course will be delivered at various locations throughout the UK and Ireland. This one is located in Castleford. Directions and maps are provided with course joining instructions. We do collect course attendees from Leeds train and bus station.
