Further Details

We strongly recommend a minimum of 2381, as during the course it will be assumed you are already familiar with the
technical language.
The five-day course will provide the candidate with all the necessary information and knowledge to design and erect an
electrical installation, with the focus being on cable sizing and management, taking account of environmental influences,
routing and suitability for purpose.
This will in the first instance be carried out manually and then by using a software cable sizing package. During the course,
a typical new commercial installation will be used as the basis for the design of an electrical system.
Overlay drawings will be produced to indicate proposed cable routing using British Standard symbols and cables will be
selected to be suitable for aesthetic and environmental influences.
Design details and documentation will be produced to validate the disconnection times of each circuit for compliance with
the wiring regulations and allow the person responsible for inspection and testing to compare actual values with design
values.Time will also be given to the project structure.
Candidates entering without C&G 2391-01 will require three additional training days to cover the inspection and testing
procedures, prior to attempting the practical assessment, unless they have prior knowledge of inspection and testing, in
which case they can directly enter the practical assessment, which is not required if the candidate already holds C&G 2391-
01 as accreditation of prior knowledge is accepted.
Tutorial days are also available to support project work, if required.
