Tiling Course

WE ARE NOW AN APPROVED "THE TILE ASSOCIATION" TRAINING CENTRE.

The 10 day tiling course is very intensive and practical based. You will be provided with all the tiling tools and materials during the course.

We know what people want from their tiling training and how to get the best from you and how to get you to a high standard in a short period of time. This in confirmed by the feedback we receive at the end of courses and the success stories from people after they leave the training centre.

You are taught by experienced tradesmen with up-to-date knowledge so please feel free to ask as many questions as possible throughout the course about any aspect of tiling. The tutors do not have their own office therefore they are always within the tiling training area throughout the day offering help and support.

Course Objectives and Certification.

Our tiling training courses are aimed at not just giving you the knowledge and skills in tiling but the confidence to use them. The courses are intensive but taught in a relaxed, friendly and professional manner by experienced tradesmen who are approved by City & Guilds. Our tiling courses can be attended midweek or over consecutive Saturdays. Full support is provided after course completion.;

Upon completion you will receive a level 1 unit certificate in Basic Construction Skills awarded by City & Guilds

During the course you will:

* Understand how to and practice setting out floors and walls - very important to know the correct method. You will complete this in your own training bay and we will also cover setting out in our other training bays - bathrooms, kitchens, etc.
* Fix tiles to walls, working around obstacles such as windows, sockets, switches, basins, internal and external angles.
* Uniform pattern, diamond pattern, brick wall effect, mosiacs, splash backs, porcelain

* Fix tiles to floors - around obstacles such as pillars, pedestals, door frames, etc.
* Uniform pattern, diamond pattern
* Apply grout to walls and floors using wall grout, floor grout and epoxy grout.
* Practice tile cutting using a large selection of different hand nippers, dry cutters and wet cutters.
* Know how to install tanking systems, this is completed as a group discussion and demonstartion - very popular aspect.
* Wetroom design and build
* Laying electric underfloor heating
* Understand different tiles available and their suitability for different applications.
* Identify background surfaces and understand any preparation that they may require.
* Use a selection of tools, equipment and materials used in floor and wall tiling.
* Understand how to correctly plan and prepare tiling projects - tools and materials needed, time frames and how to cost jobs.
* Understanding the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise. You will also be provided with support after completing your course and you are able to contact your tutor, email or call into the training centre to discuss your queries.

Duration and Cost.

10 Days in duration, either Monday to Friday, or Saturday courses between 9am until 5pm in Stoke or 8am to 4pm in Wolverhampton.

You can pay for the course either by cash, Cheque, debit or credit card. There is a 2% charge for credit card payments.

We ask for a deposit of £100 to secure your place on a course.
