HABC (LEVEL) 2 AWARD FOR DOOR SUPERVISORS.
What is the HABC Level 2 Award in Door Supervision?
The SIA issues licences to door supervisors who meet their criteria. In the interests of the industry as a whole and in support of its licence to practice.
To get an SIA licence you will need to satisfy three requirements:

* Pass a criminal records check
* Possess a recognised door supervisor qualification

HABC (LEVEL) 2 AWARD FOR DOOR SUPERVISORS
This is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners who require a qualification which will enable them to apply for a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence for Door Supervisors.
This qualification is based on the SIA specification for core competency training for Door Supervisors which covers the knowledge and understanding that a candidate must prove in order to be issued with a licence to practice, and the basic core of good practice for the purpose of licensing.
This will include additional requirements for door supervisors in relation to;
* escorting and disengagement skills,
* first aid awareness,
* dealing with 14 - 18 year olds and
* awareness of terrorist threats.
What does the qualification consist of?
This qualification consists of four units:
Module 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Module 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
Module 3: Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
Module 4: Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
Who is this qualification for?
The Level 2 HABC Award for Door Supervisors (Scotland) qualification is designed for door supervisors who wish to work in licensed retail or Security Guarding; and is awarded to those who pass three examinations covering the basic knowledge and responsibilities of the occupation.
This nationally recognised qualification will be the industry standard and will enable a door supervisor to apply for a Security Industry Authority licence to practice.
Assessment
Assessment for the HABC Award for Door Supervisors (Scotland) qualification is criterion referenced, based on the achievement of the specified assessment criteria.
The overall grading is a pass, based on the successful completion of the units. Learners must pass the four mandatory units to achieve the HABC Award for Door Supervisors (Scotland).
Module 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Module 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
Module 3: Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
The above three modules are assessed by means of a multiple-choice test that is set and marked by HABC and administered by the centre. The test will provide the necessary assessment for these units.
Module 4: Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
Module 4, is internally assessed, involving a mix of demonstration of practical skills and knowledge assessment.
The course will take 30 hours (4 Days).
A FREE handbook is available which outlines the content of the course, and contains all the knowledge required to pass the qualification examinations.
Assistance is also provided for all candidates to correctly complete and submit their SIA Application form.
