Care Worker

Students
Places are available on our Care Worker Scheme. This involves a full time placement in a care home (35-40 paid hours per week) and registration on a two year course including UK care standards Inductions and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in care at levels 2 and 3.

These are internationally recognised qualifications and enable you to enter the UK on a 2 YEAR student visa. Due to the course being work based learning, you are entitled to work up to 40 hours per week.

The course is made up of 3 training segments and periods of work as follows:

UK Care Induction Course - Your initial induction and assessment will be completed in your first 3 days in the UK. This also allows the care home to complete the necessary paperwork required before you can begin work.

NVQ Level 2 Induction - An initial induction will be completed to assess you current level and any areas of your experience/knowledge that need particular attention. Due to the work based learning nature of NVQ’s, it is necessary that this course will be completed whilst you are undertaking paid employment.

NVQ Level 2 - 10 Month Work Placement - This will be up to 40 hours a week of paid work in a care home. Some of this work will be made up of on the job training, led tuition and assessment. This placement will allow you to learn, practice and perfect the knowledge and skills taught in your NVQ course. This will take 10 months to complete.

NVQ Level 3 Induction - You will undergo an initial induction onto NVQ 3. This will again include identifying any areas in which you require further assistance. Due to the work based learning nature of NVQ’s, this course will be completed whilst you are undertaking paid employment.

NVQ Level 3 - 14 Month Work Placement - This will be up to 40 hours a week of paid work in a care home. Some of this work will be made up of on the job training, led tuition and assessment. This placement will allow you to learn, practice and perfect the knowledge and skills taught in your NVQ course.
