This intensive one day course (April 23rd, 2012) provides a comprehensive introduction to badger ecology and the interpretation of field signs, and basic guidance on the options available in the management of badger issues. Instruction will be from experts with over ten years experience working with badgers, in both research and management. A classroom session will cover fundamental badger ecology, survey and study methods, management, mitigation and legal issues. A field session will provide practical instruction in the identification and interpretation of badger field signs, and demonstration of techniques such as sett activity surveys and bait-marking. The course is endorsed by the UK Badger Trust.
