All courses are conducted to a high standard and include both theory and practical demonstrations with candidate participation supported by Audio Visulal presentations.

Delegates must be at least 18 years of age, reasonably literate, have a comprehension of English and no disabilities that may preclude them from being considered competent in the use and selection of Abrasive Wheels.

The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 requires that anyone involved in selecting, mounting,specifying or using Abrasive Wheels is competent.

This 1/2 day course covers;
The requirements of the Health & Safety Act 1974 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 with respect of Abrasive Wheels

Methods of safe use of Abrasive Wheels on angle Grinders, Portable Chop Saws, Disc Cutters and Bench Grinders

Hazards arising from the use of Abrasive Wheels and precautions to be obseved

How to identify types and characteristics

Inspection and testing of Abrasive Wheels

Functions and components including Flanges, Washers, Bushes and Nuts used in mounting and correct & incorrect methods of mounting, balancing and dressing Abrasive Wheels

Personal Protective Equipment

The course concludes with a Practical Assessment together with a Test Paper with Multiple Choice answers and a Certificate follows within 7 days.
