Audience
Managers, supervisors, safety representatives and those with a responsibility for safety in the workplace.
Objectives
At the end of the course delegates will be able to attend the certificate examination, conduct a safety inspection of the workplace and produce a report on appropriate, cost effective remedial actions.
Course Structure
The course consists of 2 taught units NGC1: The Management of Health and Safety and NGC2: Controlling Working Hazards.
Exemptions*
Those who have achieved the: NGC1, National General Certificate Paper A1, NEBOSH National Diploma Unit A, NEBOSH Diploma Part 1 or NEBOSH Diploma Part 2 within the last 5 years will only have to take and pass the second Unit of the General Certificate, and the General Practical Assessment to achieve the new qualification.
Assessment of the Course
Two written examination papers each of two hours duration and a Practical test (NGC3) involving a safety inspection of a workplace (½ hour duration) and the preparation of a report following the inspection (1½ hours duration) *Unless Exemptions Apply, see above.
Candidates can choose to study and register for unit examinations individually and will gain a unit certificate on successful completion of each unit.
Course Length
The course consists of 10 lecture days, 1 revision day, 1 day of written examinations and the practical test. This course can be delivered in company
