This is a professional foundation level course which provides a number of unique advantages over animal husbandry degrees and diplomas that are offered elsewhere:

Course Structure
1. There are 20 MODULES (ie. subjects) to be studied. These are all available by correspondence study.
a/ Core Modules (12)
Animal Husbandry I, II & III, Pasture Management, Soil Science, Plant Science I, Farm Management, Agricultural Marketing, Biochemistry, Business Studies, Instructional Skills, Workplace Health & Safety.
b/ Electives (8)
Eight additional modules must be chosen. Choices include: Animal Breeding, Horse Care I, II, III, Beef Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Calf Rearing, Sheep, Pigs, Poultry, Aquaculture, Equine Behaviour, Animal Behaviour, Irrigation, Engineering I. (Additional options will be offered next year).

2. WORKSHOPS
Two PBL (Problem Based Learning) modules that develop practical skills, related to real life industry needs.
3. Industry CONFERENCES or SEMINARS
You are required to attend conferences, seminars, etc totalling 100 hrs.
4. RESEARCH PROJECTS
Two Research Project modules. Each involves a component that teaches you abot research theory & skills; followed by a mini project to practice what was covered in the first part of the course. For more details, see and
STUDY SEQUENCE
The 20 standard modules are divided into six stages. In stage 1, you study Biochemistry, , Business Studies, Instructional Skills and Workplace Health & Safety.
This stage is completed before workshops, research projects or other modules.
Core modules are completed before commencing electives.
Enrolment fee does not include exam fees (x 21) and workshop fees
Note: Fees cover all tuition and "essential" texts. This does not include fees for any Industry conferences or seminars or workshops which are attended).
This course is internationally accredited through I.A.R.C.
This course provides training for people wishing to work in agriculture at a technician or management level; in positions such as a farm manager, technical representatives, trainers or consultants.
DURATION:
2500 hrs. Normally 3 yrs full time or 5-7 yrs part time.
(NB: It may be possible to complete the course in 1-2 years with extra effort).
