Carpentry & Joinery - City & Guilds - Lyme Regis, UK

An intensive eight week course teaching students about wood and working with wood, from trees and wood selection through to jointing, laminating and bending. The course is highly practical and, while students achieve a City & Guilds 6217-05 (Carpentry & Joinery) or 6217-06 (Furniture Making) level 1 certificate at the end of the course, the syllabus is much wider than that required by City & Guilds. This is reflected by the additional award of a Boat Building Academy certificate.

Further Details

During the second half of the course students complete a personal project.
This could be a toolbox (based on a classic apprenticeship piece), something a student would like to complete for their home or a piece that demonstrates the skills learnt on the course to prospective employers. Whatever the student chooses, the project piece is a representation of all the skills the student has attained while on the course.
