Environmental Essentials are UKATA and IATP registered members.

This course is aimed at all employees who knowingly work with Non-licensed asbestos containing materials, such as maintenance workers, roofing contractors and those who supervise such works. The course content is fully compliant with the requirements of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and HSE guidance: Asbestos Essentials (Task Manual).

If required, the content of company-booked courses can be customised around the very materials that your organisation needs to work upon, such as asbestos cement roofing materials or asbestos containing gaskets etc.

Classroom and practical modules include:

 Properties and use of Asbestos
 Health Effects
 Legislation
 Use of RPE / PPE
 Safe Working Methods
 Decontamination Procedures
 Waste Disposal
 Emergency Procedures

Delegates are required to undertake and pass a practical assessment and to achieve an 80% pass mark in the multiple choice test set at the end of the course. Failure will require that specific part of the course being to be retaken.
